Physical DescriptionBead with Base, "Satyr and Woman". (a) Colorless, blue, green, purple, white, and orange glasses; flameworked. Large bead in the form of a five-tiered urn shape with two handles: one in the form of a horned satyr holding a goblet, and one in the form of a woman holding a bottle in one hand and a colorless sphere in her other hand. Figures are composed of orange, white, bluish, and greenish glasses swirled together. Body of vessel composed of bluish, greenish, purplish, and whitish glasses swirled together and cased in colorless glass. Colorless glass dots applied to body of vessel-shape. Base of handles made of colorless glass. (b) Square black Italian marble base with hole drilled into top. (c) Cylindrical metal mandrel.
