Physical DescriptionTransparent grey glass with innumerable very small bubbles; blown, applied, tooled, ground and polished. Flask with plain rounded rim; short, narrow, slightly tapering cylindrical neck; rounded shoulder; wall with shallow, convex profile, which curves in at bottom; flat, slightly concave base with ground and polished concavity at center; (A) applied decoration: single trail extends in shallow U-shaped curve across half of vessel from shoulder to shoulder with, at mid-point, impressed area with two horizontal ribs, the whole resembling arms with clasped hands; between arms, two short cylindrical blobs resembling breasts; scratched under base: "H 875/115"; (B) applied decoration: single trail extends in shallow U-shaped curve across half of vessel from top of wall to top of wall with, at mid-point, impressed area with two horizontal ribs, the whole resembling arms with clasped hands; (D,G) applied decoration: single trail extends in shallow U-shaped curve across half of vessel from shoulder to shoulder with, at mid-point, impressed area with horizontal ribs, the whole resembling arms with clasped hands; (E) applied decoration: single trail extends in shallow U-shaped curve across half of vessel from shoulder to shoulder with, at mid-point, impressed area with horizontal ribs, the whole resembling arms with clasped hands; scratched mark on bottom" "H.877 [illegible]."; (F) applied decoration: single trail extends in shallow U-shaped curve across half of vessel from shoulder to shoulder with, at mid-point, impressed area with horizontal ribs, the whole resembling arms with clasped hands; scratched mark on bottom "H.877-75" and wavy line.Provenance
