Physical DescriptionTransparent greenish-blue very bubbly glass with many impurities; wear marks at base; free-blown, enameled and gilded. Bulbous oval body with wide cylindrical neck and applied double walled foot with rough pontil mark; applied solid ear-shaped handle attached to central neck and shoulder, two applied glass rings around central neck and upper shoulder; enamel decoration: on the upper body in multicolored enamel, predominantly in green, brown and yellow, a hunting scene taking place on a strip of grass tufts, including two blue-gray and white dogs pursuing a hare proceeding to the left; the spaces between the animals are occupied by trees, with brown, blue and yellow trunks; above the hare and first dog, the date in yellow: "1610"; the frieze is framed at bottom by a red and a yellow line, and at top by the applied glass thread painted alternatingly in white and red; around the neck a band, framed by pairs of yellow lines and at bottom by a yellow beaded line, and containing diagonally oriented ovals, each enclosing a leaf-shaped motif alternatingly in brown-red, green, white and dark blue; the upper applied glass thread is decorated like the first one, below rim a gilded band (rubbed off) accompanied by two lines of white beads; at the bottom a catalogue number in red: "427-IV".
