Physical DescriptionColorless non-lead glass, borosilicate; blown. Three-part teapot: (a) pot has flattened spherical body (ovoid in cross-section) with narrow collared opening, fire polished rim, narrow elongated spout raises at angle from mid-point of body, V-cut opening with pinched lip; (b) tea leaf strainer, in deep cylindrical form with flanged rim that rests on pot opening (notched in three places for alignment with lid), walls taper in towards base edge cut with parallel vertical lines for drainage; (c) lid, flat with saucer-shaped top, deeply inset short flange (three small low-relief raised points at connection of flange and rim); etched and enameled on base in white, circle within square logo: "SCHOTT/MAINZ/Jenaer Glas/1.01:; oval paper label with gold block letters on black background: "MADE IN GERMANY".Provenance
