Interpretive Notes
These goblets are enameled on one side with the coat of arms of Henry, 10th Earl of of Pembroke and Montgomery, as well as the French motto “ung je serveray” (one I will serve). The other side shows the earl’s crest below the signature “Beilby Invt & pinxt.”
Physical Description2 Armorial Goblets. Colorless lead glass; blown, applied, enameled, gilded. Large bucket bowls supported by applied, tall straight stems with opaque white spirals; applied wide feet with rough pontil marks, thick and nearly flat.
