Physical DescriptionBase of a Water Pipe (Hookah). Transparent pale amethyst glass; blown, gilt. Bell-shape; neck, flaring to rim, above a partially gilded knop, and gilt decoration of a vine trellis enclosing single blossoms; same design on body, flanked, above and below, by two conventional borders; rounded base, concave bottom with rough pontil mark in center; several large oval blisters and slender straight-line ridges, as well as a number of stones and small bubbles.
