Physical DescriptionColorless lead glass; blown, diamond-point engraved. Rummer shape; bowl with vertical rim, tapered to base; sides with scratch-engraved inscription in script: "Water is the best of gifts - as poets often sing, / But who am I that I should have - the best of anything, / Let Princes revel at the pump - and Peers with ponds make free, / Beer, Whiskey, Wine - at any time - are good enough for me."; spool-shape stem, flared at top and bottom; disk foot with polished pontil mark, with scratch-engraved script signature: "WGGB" [?].
