Physical Description(A) Transparent blue green matrix, slightly bubbly with some surface pitting, opaque white, yellow, green, and purple mosaic glass canes; probably cast and wheel-cut with mosaic glass decoration, the overall surface was lathe-polished after fusing. Shallow bowl, ground rim with wheel-cut groove ca. 4 mm. below rim on interior, wall is slightly convex as far as preserved, a garland of mosaic glass canes is marvered into the interior of the bowl and appears to be hanging from the rim, the canes are both spiral patterns and star designs. (B) Colorless glass, some small bubbles, crizzled surface, opaque yellow green, purple, red, yellow and blue green mosaic glass canes; technique as above. Shallow band, rounded rim, wheel-cut groove 1.7 cm. below rim on interior, wall bends in somewhat more sharply than above, a flower composite of mosaic glass canes and strips has been marvered into the interior surface, probably a more complicated design than above.Provenance
