Interpretive Notes
A ceramist turned glassmaker, Jahn was one of Harvey Littleton's students at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. Jahn founded the influential glass program at the Philadelphia College of Art (now known as the University of the Arts) in 1967.
Physical DescriptionColorless and green and blue dichroic glass; blown. Irregular ovoid shape with flaring shoulder; flattened base and rim; rounded rim; dichroic glass cased in colorless glass; three pads of colorless glass applied to form flared shoulder; rough polished base with unpolished pontil mark, signed above base "R. Jahn '70".
