Physical DescriptionSculpture, "Specimen VII: Lust" from the Seven Deadly Sins series. Red, orange, and colorless glass, metal wire and rods, colorless acrylic rod, wood, gold foil; hot-worked glass, assembled. (a) Wood base; (b) colorless acrylic support rod; (c) glass marionette figure; (d) colorless glass bell-shaped cover. Red marionette-style figure (c) with orange winged hands and feet, pointed animal-like ears, and articulated joints connected with metal wire and punched metal mounts attached to glass with glue. Metal rod running through torso connects head and body; molded silver metal mounts attached to base of head and upper neck. Metal wires connected to right hand, left hand, right knee, and left foot loop around arms of T-shaped metal cross bar mounted to top of head. T-shaped metal cross bar slides horizontally into top of colorless vertical acrylic pole (b) with black tape wrapped around base. Vertical support pole slides into 6 cm metal tube attached to circular turned wooden base (a); metal wire connected to top of wood base loops around back of T-shaped metal crossbar of marionette doll (c), stabilizing the figure. (d) Colorless glass bell-shaped cover with double ogee finial with three applied hot-worked curls; interior of finial contains gold foil.
