Physical DescriptionColorless, Borosilicate heat-resistant glass; mold-blown, manipulated while hot. (A) Three-part teapot: (1a) squat body with narrow collared opening, wide angled shoulder, straight short wall that bevels towards flattened base, narrow elongated spout rises at angle from widest point of body near base, pinched lip, solid applied squared handle; (1b) tea leaf strainer, deep cylindrical form with flanged rim that rests on pot opening, walls taper in towards base edge cut with four sets of short parallel vertical slots for drainage; (1c) lid, flat disc with slightly concave top with raised upper edge notched in three places, straight rim wall; (2) sugar bowl is wide and shallow with short straight wall beveling in towards flattened base; (3) creamer bowl is same shape as sugar, narrow pinched spout, solid narrow applied slightly-squared handle, flattened base; (4a-9a) tea cups are same shape as creamer without spout; (4a-8a: s/b repainted to read 4b-8b) saucers are circular with deep, angled upturned rim, slightly conical base with circular indentation for cup; all rims are fire polished; no pontil on any object; etched on base of teapot, creamer, sugar, tea cups: "JENAer GLAS/(in circle in square logo) SCHOTT 7 GEN JENA/GERMANY/1 Ltr."; (creamer and sugar do not say GERMANY/1 Ltr.; tea cups have line above logo: JENAer GLAS). No pieces in the set are marked with same logo as depicted on tea cup packaging.
