Physical DescriptionColorless with green fracture; blown; wheel-cut. Fragment from wall of dish with curved side. Decoration cut on outside but intended to be viewed from inside: (when seen from inside) head of man facing front, hair combed forward in symmetrical fringe, thick eyebrows with hairs indicated by short vertical cuts, large oval eyes with prominent irises, nose long and straight, mouth small, hollow cheeks indicated by shallow triangular cuts, short beard on cheeks and chin but no mustache, and small ears, probably wearing paludamentum; above his head, laurel wreath held by figure to right, one of whose hands survives; to left of head, just above eye-level, fragmentary inscription, "]I .
