Physical DescriptionBuckle. Two-part gilt bronze buckle, inset with three slightly rounded rectangular panels of turquoise blue glass; central panel has an inset motif of two interlocked rims of mother-of-pearl enclosing a central oval set of dark blue glass flanked by insets of colorless (?) glass, now disintegrated; in each smaller side panel is inset a circular yang-yin (dual principle) motif in mother-of-pearl and carnelian; one of two devices for attaching a belt remains on the back; an ingenious sliding device secures the buckle.Provenance
