Physical DescriptionColorless lead glass; blown, cut, stipple-engraved. Ovoid bowl, with diamond-stipple decoration of a soldier, carrying a sword, greeting an older soldier, seated, at a liberty pole; signed below in stipple "D: Wolff 17 218 95" and inscribed at the bottom, right "Het Eerste Jaar der Bataafsche vryheid." and (on the reverse) the inscription (stipple, block-letters) "VRYHEID GELYKHEID BROEDERSCHAP/'T HEIL DER BEIDE NAATIEN/REIST!BATAVIER! ONS'HULP,/RUKT' U!UIT. SALVERNY:/GY!ZYT TANS VRY MET ONS:/EEN VRYIEN HOED,MAAKT BLEI."; panel-cut drawn stem; conical foot with rough pontil mark.
