Physical DescriptionDecanter with Stopper. Colorless lead glass; mold-blown and engraved. Cylindrical body with pear-shaped neck section. Wide mouth with pouring spout; narrow neck which bulges out at base, cylindrical body with molded bosses around shoulder; polished floral engraving on body below bosses; cut sunburst on base. Separate stopper is bull- shaped with sterling silver covering on upper portion and long shaft.

Said by the donor to have been done by John S. Hoare as a present to her when they married or shortly after. Hoare is not otherwise known as an engraver and it may have been done to his order rather than by him.
