Physical DescriptionAlabaster Goblet. Translucent white ("opaline") non-lead glass; blown, cut, gilt, silvered, enameled. Panel-cut, bell-shaped bowl, with cut rim; gilt lines (one, three, one) on the rim; the paneled sides with delicately gilt, silvered and enameled flowers, foliage and scrolls; panel-cut inverted baluster stem, with gilt, black-and- red enameled band at the top, a band of silver quatrefoils flanked by gold lines at the center, and two gilt lines at the bottom; panel-cut, sloping, octagonal foot with decoration similar to that on the bowl; gilt lines near the edge; the bottom polished flat, with a large polished concave pontil mark at the center.
