Physical DescriptionTransparent brilliant blue and opaque white lead glasses; blown, cameo-carved. Tall, ovoid shape, with cylindrical neck; rounded shoulders, sides tapering to a rounded base, on a rounded foot; white overlay on blue, cameo carved; foliate border at the rim, a female figure holding a billowing scarf on the side, with flowering plants and grasses growing naturalistically from the ground; incised signature "G. Woodall" in script below the tallest flowering plant; a border of repeated, tiny six-petaled flowers between pairs of ribs below; a band of repeated leaves decorates the foot; acid-etched marks on the underside of the foot; "THOMAS WEBB & SONS" in an arc above "GEM / CAMEO" and "THEODORE B. STARR" in circle around "NEW / YORK"; printed paper label inscribed "COLLECTION OF DR. & MRS. LEONARD S. RAKOW" in a circle, with typed "CG-4" in the center.
