Physical DescriptionScent Bottle. Colorless lead glass, metal alloy; blown, cut, gilded. Flat, ovoid body, with long, cylindrical neck and flared foot; cut all over, with diamond facets on either face of the body, short panels on the sides and neck; molded gold collar at the rim, with a small side loop, and flexible gold chain attached to a gold heart-shaped stopper with chased foliate designs and tapered shank; the sides of the bottle with a thin gold cage, formed as four bands of elaborate rococo openwork gold, with scrolls and floral swags; the bottom with a hinged, molded cover of rectangular form with canted corners; ogee-molded edge thumb-piece; opening onto a dished receptacle in the foot of the bottle; tiny square paper label on the hinged base, inscribed in ink "69.".
