Physical DescriptionBottle. Transparent purple; opaque white (trail). Body blown in dip mold. Bottle: cylindrical, somewhat lopsided. Rim tapers, with rounded lip; neck cylindrical, wider at bottom than at top, and with bulge just below rim; shoulder slopes, with rounded edge; wall vertical, curving in at bottom; base plain, with low kick; pontil mark probably circular (D. about 1.1 cm). Thin white trail wound unevenly three times around lower neck. Decoration in relief covers wall from top to bottom, and continues very faintly under base: overall pattern comprising four continuous rows of hexagons, eight in each row, arranged in quincunx; each compartment contains one circular boss with indentation at center. Three uppermost rows are in prominent relief, while fourth row is faint at bottom of wall and almost invisible under base.Provenance
