Physical DescriptionDecanter: colorless; stopper: very bubbly transparent greenish-blue at top, shading into semi-opaque olive green; decanter: blown or mold-blown with ground and polished rim; stopper: tooled or molded, lower part ground and polished. (a) Decanter. Rim everted with ground and polished lip; tall cylindrical neck splaying at bottom to merge with shoulder which descends in elongated S-shaped curve to greatest diameter, below which wall curves inward to concave disk-shaped base. On shoulder, maker's adhesive label, rectangular, inscribed "cristal/DAUM" above fourteen solid black circles arranged in three vertical rows of four circles with one vertical row of two circles to right. Acid-etched or engraved signatures: "CD" on underside of base, near edge; "Daum France" (cursive) on side of base. (b) Stopper. Knop consists of two curved elements of different sizes, reminiscent of the valves of a ribbed shell, partly enclosing central void; narrow solid stem and tapering stopper with sides and bottom ground and polished. Acid-etched or engraved signature on bottom: "CD".Provenance
