Physical DescriptionPresentoir (Perfume Tester), "La Renommée d’Orsay (D'Orsay, Fame)". Colorless demi-lead glass; pressed then laminated hot, acid- etched. Solid rectangular bar with five cavities; solid bar has been pressed with five bulbous cavities with narrow, abraded neck openings and wide open bases; exterior pattern of overall curvilinear thorned vine pattern in relief with acid-etching on concave surfaces; on one long side appears in relief the word "D'Orsay" in large stylized letters among the vines; thick rectangular slab base has been joined hot to pressed bar sealing the cavity openings; each of small neck openings has a small solid stopper with handle in form of an anemone blossom, each has intaglio detailing of petals and block letters encircling the center of each blossom; (1) "Crypre D'Orsay", (2) "Fleurs France", (3) "Les Fleurs D'Orsay", (4) "Le Chevalier D'Orsay", (5) "Le Lys D'Orsay"; blossom top short, cylindrical stem in two sections; top, wide short section has been abraded; lower section of each stopper bears a number from 1-5 in relief; unsigned.Provenance
