Physical DescriptionColorless glass; cast, ground, polished, engraved. Roughly oval shape, resembling lancelet leaf; plain rounded rim; wall curves inward to bottom, where it is very thick; plain flat base, roughly oval; engraved decoration on outside and under base: straight groove bisects vessel along major axis, between groove and bottom of rim, very many transverse more or less parallel lines, resembling veins in leaf; signature scratched on rim with diamond point: "TAPIO WIRKKALA - IITTALA - 53".
