Physical DescriptionColorless lead glass; blown, acid-etched, pressed. Four part epergne with trumpet vase (c) fitting into plate (b) which fits above the head of a shaft in the form of a classically draped woman whose plinth is secured to a bowl. (b) shallow blown plate with slightly upturned edges, six fern fronts acid-etched on bottom surface (3 each of 2 kinds), roughly ground hole in center is and on top of a collar of glass. (c) Trumpet shape, blown vase decorated with two acid-etched fern fronds, silver plated screw fitting at base; Pressed shaft is acid-frosted, has three vertical mold seams, capstan-like knob on top of woman's head above which is a silver plated collar with screw thread on the interior surrounding a glass peg, woman resembles the draped ladies of the Greek Erectheun; bowl with upturned edges and eight fern fronts, four of each king alternating; dome in center ground and polished on top around hole for shaft.Provenance
