Physical DescriptionColorless and opaque black non-lead glasses, metallic gold; plasticine mold, plaster negative, fuse-cast glass. Solid cast three-part sculpture: (a) curved tornado "twister" of solid colorless glass surfaced with deep spiral grooves, wide end has been ground and polished flat, narrow end ground to fit vertically in aperture in "c" segment; (b) half segment of solid base of black glass depicting stylized landscape with raised stepped element decorated with four free-standing small squared cones; wide edge of zigzag shaped base faced with gold interlocks (space in between) with "c"; inscribed in script on base): "David Hasslinger/1988"; (c) second half of landscape base with interlocking gold faced edge, tall raised right-angle shaped architectural element with square opening rises from outside edge at wide end; near narrow end of base deep hole lined with silicone into which tornado fits; all surfaces covered with mold marks and wide grooves.
