Physical Description13 Fragments of Composite Molding Strips [59.1.563 D and 76.1.56 k are joined] Except for fragments (a) and (b), all others are composed of translucent deep blue glass with inlay strips of opaque white, all are heavily pitted and weathered; all are mosaic glass technique. (a) Translucent amethyst glass strip cased with opaque white and overlaid with translucent yellow-brown and trails of translucent light blue. Fragment preserves short rectangular segment of an elaborate strip roughly rectangular in cross section whose upper and lower surfaces have been embellished with parallel trails of opaque white and blue creating a rich and elaborate molding, an additional trail of yellow-brown is added at the base to elaborate the profile. (b) A flat band of translucent deep green is cased on either side and backed with opaque white forming a simple band roughly a narrow rectangle in cross section. (c) Large rectangular strip roughly rectangular in cross section, a sandwich of blue and white, blue side retains concave groove. (d) Curved strip flat on one side retains opaque white trails at edges and tooling marks suggesting it is the waste glass at the end of the strip. (e) Long rectangular strip trapezoidal in cross section, thick white trail inlaid on flat wide side, roughly rounded top has been cased with opaque white and second layer of blue added to fill out the trapezoidal form. (f) Similar to proceeding, smaller rectangular cross section, a layer of white bisects the long side appearing on each long face and one narrow side is overlaid with white. (g) Similar rectangular cane with white roughly dividing the short side as above but the lower two-thirds is solid blue while the upper one-third consists of a strip of blue next to a strip of white roughly equal. (h) Virtually identical to (g), probably broken from the same strip. (i) roughly rectangular strip with perfect half-round short side overlaid with white to form a bolster-like miniature molding. (j) Long rectangular strip roughly trapezoidal in cross section, a wide band of opaque white is sandwiched between two bands of blue then additional trails of white are placed on side and one down the center of the largest face. (k) Joins 59.1.563 D. (l) Short rectangular strip similar to proceeding. (m) Long rectangular strip almost square in cross section, badly chipped and broken on one side, a thick layer of blue sandwiched with a layer of light blue.
