Physical DescriptionTransparent pale yellow-green crushed glass; crushed glass melted in a cire perdue mold, cast. Deep vertical shape with thick rounded lip rim, collared straight neck decorated with three evenly spaced modeled deer heads with small horns separated by intaglio neck band pattern of three diamonds sets, each with center ring; body of vessel tapering slightly towards base is entirely surrounded by a free-standing "cage" connected to vessel by short solid struts, approximate upper two-thirds consists of six young frolicking young deer within a wooded landscape, band beneath ground line extending to base consists of band of linked circlets topping band of half circlets whose sides form short base posts attached to inset base; slightly concave base has smooth shining surface from melting process and large open surface bubble; inscribed in script on base: "F. Carder/1952".Provenance
