Physical DescriptionTranslucent pale amber cased in colorless with narrow alternating red and green (very faint) stripes, metal rod and net, acrylic neck on stopper; glass with pick-up cane decoration blown into fabricated net; acid-etched. (a) Tall free-standing sculptural object consisting of vertical rectangular (tapering in towards top) hemmed flat envelope of wire mesh; mesh is bound to and supported on three sides by narrow black wire frame standing on two perpendicular feet at lower corners; broad sides of mesh are joined together except at narrow opening at top separated to form a cavity into which a long glass bottle has been blown, openings in mesh surrounding vessel have been widened at regular intervals to form a dot gridwork; bottle is irregular ovoid in shape with two-tiered shoulder of heavily cased pale amber with striped decoration, extended tubular neck with flattened lipless opening; (b) bottle is topped with a flanged stopper with silvered dome; overall matte surface; inscribed in script around flat surface of neck opening: "Nuutajärvi Notsjo Markku Salo 1990".
