Physical DescriptionColorless glass with greyish tinge and seeds; opaque white (lattimo) threads; traces of turquoise beads; blown, vetro a fili, applied, stamped, gilded. Pouring vessel in the form of four-footed animal, of colorless glass with longitudinal lattimo stripes; one end formed as a rounded head with pointed beak and open mouth, with two applied molded raspberry prunts on either side forming eyes; ovoid body; applied face mask with traces of gilding on back, surrounded by ten raspberry prunts, of which four touch the mask; tail formed as upcurved, widened pouring spout with pointed tip; four applied colorless feet underneath. Applied colorless oval pad underneath neck, with rough pontil mark. All raspberry prunts, including “eyes,” originally contained inset beads. The lattimo threads consist of clear glass, cased in white; threads do not all meet in tip of head. Mouth has been cut open with straight shears. Right “eye” shows evidence of casting-off.
