Physical DescriptionColorless; cut, printed, cold-painted, glued. Slides consisting of two rectangles of colorless sheet glass framed in green paper tape around edges. The slides are divided into three printed segments separated by vertical lines. The two scenes on the right and left illustrate the story of Don Quichote. (A) The left illustration shows Don Quichote seated frontally in an armchair reading stories of chivalry. The right illustration shows Don Quichote being knighted by his landlord. The text in the center panel explains: "N 1. Don Quichotte/ lisant ses romans de chevalerie./ N 2. Don Quichotte/ se fait armer chevalier/ par son hotellier." (B) Left illustration: don Quichotte in armour charges on his horse at several windmills on the left. His companion Sancho Pansa throws up his arms in dispair in the background. Right illustration: Don Quichotte in armour fights a group of mule drivers with sticks. Text: "N 3. Don Quichotte livre un combat terrible/ á des moulins a vent/ qu'il prend pour des géants/ N 4. Combat terrible entre Don Quichotte et des muletiers."
