Physical DescriptionColorless non-lead glass; silver plated metal; mold-blown by machine; a) bulbous carafe; flared polished rim with pinched lip; rim angled so lip end taller than opposite end; cylindrical neck, "CORNING BRAND/HEAT PROOF GLASS" stamped onto inside of neck; metal band around neck, circumference of band stamped with floral motif, top and bottom borders plain; handle with leaf motif opposite lip, handle rounded out then in, end unattached, top of handle attached to carafe by metal band around neck and screws; body tapered out to shoulder, rounded in from shoulder to base; flat circular base; b) domed cover; knob/finial with rosette motif on top; tall dome slightly flared out to flat rim at bottom; cylindrical insert; notch/opening on side of cover with narrow bottom and wide top; c) carafe stand; open circular band at top; band lightly rounded in; three equally spaced legs, each leg exterior has palmette, scroll, and acanthus motifs at the top with paw feet at the bottom, reptile skin motif on interior, legs are "S" shaped; platform with depressed center suspended by legs just above feet, outer edge of platform bent down.Provenance
