Physical DescriptionPitcher Inscribed with Maker's Name. Transparent pale green; many bubbles. Blown in mold with two vertical sections. Pitcher: pear-shaped. Rim plain, with rounded lip and pouring lip; neck short and cylindrical, splaying at bottom and merging with wall, which curves down, out, and in; base shaped like shallow disk, with concave underside; pontil mark (D. about 1 cm). Handle with circular cross section dropped onto wall just above midpoint. Body decorated in mold with two vertical sections; seams are below spout and under right edge of handle attachment. Decoration in relief consists of two lines of Kufic inscription separated by row of 12 dots, with row of 22 dots and continuous border beneath lower line. For the inscription, see below.
