Interpretive Notes
On a formally decorated table, this piece would have been in the center of the table and two to four smaller ones would have been spread along the table at intervals. The upright blossoms are more likely to have held flowers than candles, while the two flat saucers might have had confections or nuts.

Physical DescriptionColorless, transparent green and translucent to opalescent glass; gilded metal; blown, appled, tooled; mold-blown. a) Base: Gilded metal, translucent opalescent glass; mold-blown. Free form shape imitating plant vines with six (6) cups, threaded opening in center and two ribbed ovoid shape glass "flower buds" in leaved holders. b) saucer: Colorless and transparent green glass, bold-blown, tooled. Circular ribbed dish shape with ruffled edge and hold in center. c) bowl: Colorless and translucent to opaque opalescent glass; blown, applied, tooled. Gilded metal mount. Globular shape with eight (8) opalescent applied ribs, wavy rim; cylindrical threaded mount with flange rim (screws onto central opening). d-g) holders: Four (4) flower bud like holders. Colorless, translucent to opaque opalescent and transparent green glass; blown, applied, tooled; gilded metal mounts, ovoid shape with five (5) applied ribs and five (5) green trails, wavy tooled rim, cylindrical gilded metal mount. h-i) saucers: Colorless and transparent green glass; mold-blown, tooled, gilded metal mount. Shallow tear- drop shaped saucer, ribbed with wavy rim, cylindrical mount.
