Physical DescriptionLoving Cup. Lead glass, heavy, colorless; squat globular body with sides slanting inward from tooled medial, horizontal, triangular rib to applied double triangular-ring collar at base of long neck flaring at folded tooled rim; heavy standard with composite stem -- triple-ring knop, large hollow ball-knop containing an 1819 George III coin, double ring knop, narrow shank on flat broad circular foot with rough pontil mark; two applied and opposing semi-ear-shaped handles with wide medial rib, long tongue attachment under rim, crimped and curled end attached between collar and rib on body. No denomination on coin but probably half-crown; floring not coined until 1840's. Same coin as two in knops of Sugar Bowl CMG 66.4.62, but they are each dated 1816. (or are coins in CMG 66.4.62 one shilling piece?)
