Physical DescriptionColorless non-lead glass; blown, enameled. (a) Globular body, cylindrical neck; elaborately decorated with red, blue, yellow and white enamels; scrolled band below the rim, above a linear blue and white band with dashes; shield on the front, displaying a yellow bear, with red fields above and below; elaborate, colorful floral devices at either side; inscribed at the back, below the handle in white script "gott allein sont/die ehre [?] 1736"; two white lines and a looped line below; applied loop handle, curled at the lower terminal; trailed foot ring; rough pontil mark. (b) Domed form with folded rim and tapered brim, enameled polychrome formal flowers; applied finial with ball knop; rough pontil mark inside oval on top of the finial knop.
