Physical DescriptionColorless lead glass, wood; pressed and cut (glass), hand made (wooden parts). (Ba) Well, pressed in the form of a hollow cube with shear mark on inside, the four side faces cut in identical patterns of lines and diamonds, top surface ground and polished smooth, bottom surface ground and polished and with a cut multi-pointed star. (Bb) Wooden insert which has mouth of inkwell and a flat collar as well as a hollow cylindrical extension which goes into well. Inscribed on top of collar: "THE SMITH INKSTAND NO. 300 / PATENTED SEPT 18, 1894 m'F'D BY THE BRONSON INKSTAND CO. 126 LIBERTY ST NEW YORK". (Bc) Funnel-like wooden devices which fit inside opening in collar. Has the remains of a rubber ring also inside collar.
