Physical DescriptionTranslucent (almost opaque, slightly opalescent) yellow non-lead glass; pressed. (a) Sugar bowl, squat cylindrical body, wide open circular top with flat lipless rim, on opposite side of body, near opening rim, are the rectangular top edges of two solid handle flanges, handles extend out from body at right-angles, then straight down body with outside edge curving in sharply near foot forming a quarter-circle curve, handles impressed with semi-circle grip areas extending from vessel body and covering most of handle area; curved base of body meets hollow hexagonal base; (b) cover, slightly domed circular lid, shallow rim edge turns downward at right angle forming a stepped low ridge on underside, top center handle in form of slightly domed hexagonal finial sitting on wider circular wafer; (c) plate stand (smaller version of 95.3.104c) with flaring rim, hexagonal plate impressed with two concentric circular areas, first forms a shallow band extending almost to place edge, second is deeply impressed (with raised upper edge) to create well for sugar bowl base and forming foot with circular base rim. In raised block letters on base of 95.3.105Aa,Ac: "HB (letters joined together as a monogram)".Provenance
