Physical DescriptionColorless, transparent aquamarine, opaque white; gather of aquamarine marvered, decorated with trail of white, and marvered again; cased with colorless; inflated into cylindrical form; bottom pushed in and placed over positive mold made of plaster and chamotte; inflated again; cracked off; after annealing, rim ground and polished; signature engraved. Sculpture, "Lined": cylindrical shape. Rim curves inward slightly, with plain, flat, ground and polished top; wall descends vertically and, just above bottom, splays and then curves in; base plain with very large kick. Applied and mold-blown decoration: (1) applied, single white trail, sandwiched between aquamarine and colorless, extends from rim to base, continues across side of kick and up opposite side of wall, terminating at rim; (2) mold-blown, underside of kick decorated with child-like face beneath hair or cap; eyebrows, eyes with lids, nose and mouth are indicated. Engraved signature on wall, just above base: "B van Loo '75".Provenance
