Interpretive NotesIn Peace, Love, Lyubov Ivanovna Savelyeva combines universal and personal symbols of protection and contentment—a mother with her child, and the large overstuffed chair—to project her own message of peace. The glass sculpture was blown in a factory in L'viv and enameled and finished in the artist's studio in Moscow. Savelyeva is an independent artist and educator who trained at the Moscow Higher Art Industrial Secondary School. She was one of only three glass artists elected to the Soviet Academy of Fine Arts.
