Physical DescriptionColorless lead glass; tooled. (A,B) Baluster stem with tear drop and three applied mereses at top of stem, spherical knop above mereses, "crown" at top formed of three comma-shaped scrolls; applied merese below stem, conical foot; base ground flat and polished. (A) has gummed label with type no. 8277; signed "Steuben Design S" under base in diamond-point script; (B) signed "Steuben". (C-E) Baluster stem with tear drop and two applied mereses at top of stem, spherical knop above mereses, "crown" at top formed of a mushroom-shaped piece with six cut and polished notches around rim; surmounted by an applied ball, conical foot; base ground flat and polished. (C) has gummed label with typed no. 8277; signed "Steuben Design S" under base in diamond-point script; (D) signed "Steuben" under base in diamond-point script; (E) unsigned.
