Physical DescriptionColorless non-lead glass; blown, engraved, enameled, pierced metal mounts. Globular bodies with tapered, conical, straight-sided necks; the necks and shoulders decorated with a pierced metal collar in formal scrollwork, with a band of linked ovals below the rims, partly decorated with transparent blue and opaque orange enamels, the necks with stylized florets and scrollwork highlighted in blue and orange enamels; a band of formal scroll lappets at the shoulders, highlighted with orange enamel; the bulbous bodies of the vase with polished engraved decorations of lizards, seahorses, sea anemones, coral, and a medusa (?), the decoration on each vase the mirror image of the other; rounded foot rims, with gilded pierced metal mounts in a formal pattern of linked and opposing arcs, highlighted with blue and orange enamels; polished pontil marks; inscribed "GF." in light blue enamel inside the necks, below the rims.Provenance
