Physical DescriptionColorless, opaque black, translucent green, metallic green, opaque reddish-brown non-lead glass; flameworked. Lifelike and life-sized insect with ovoid curved body, three pairs of articulated legs, each leg has two short pulled points, one pair of legs extends forward from front lobe of double-lobed body, second and third pairs extending towards rear from rear lobe; small flattened head with two applied reddish-brown eyes near neck, very short solid rectangular section extends from front of green head, placed over slightly longer pair of black antennae with ball tips, longer and heavier pair of antennae with thickened tips curve out from side of head; front and back body lobes have upper surface of metallic green overlaid with colorless, each lobe bisected by impressed line, larger rear lobe also decorated with impressed rows of narrow parallel lines extending half-length, underside of large lobe has broad rows of impressed lines running horizontally across body, back lobe swells towards pointed end; impressed on underside of forward section of body: "VC".Provenance
