Physical DescriptionColorless, opaque black, metallic silver, metallic green, opaque reddish-brown non-lead glass; flameworked. Lifelike and life-sized triple-lobed insect with three pairs of articulated legs, each leg has one short pulled points, one pair of legs extends from front half of double-lobed body, second and third pairs extending towards rear from second lobe; small flattened head with two applied reddish-brown eyes near neck, very short pair of amber pincers over slightly longer pair of black antennae with ball tips extend at right angles from front of head, longer pair of cyma-curved antennae emerge at angle from side of head; head and ovoid front lobe surface have overall silver surface, large back lobe has upper surface of metallic green overlaid with colorless, decorated with impressed rows of narrow parallel lines extending length of lobe, underside of large lobe has broad rows of impressed lines running horizontally across body, back lobe swells towards pointed end; impressed on underside of forward section of body: "VC".Provenance
