Physical DescriptionProbably colorless with transparent amethyst stain, iridization, polychrome enameling or painting, metal is gold colored (mostly worn); mold-blown, cold-painted or enameled, fabricated. Pair of iridized inverted baluster-shape vases with slightly different iridization; narrow openings fitted with metal collar flanked by pair of thin cyma-curve handles extending to shoulder; straight cylindrical neck of glass extens to swollen shoulder that gradually tapers towards base; body decorated with gold and multicolored paint/enamel, just below opening on neck is band of gold scalloping with a band of regularly spaced dots just below, shoulder area has trompe l'oiel netting of knotted gold cords with orange color at junctures, small painted hearts hang from top row of junctures, groups of three cords and tassels hang from second and third rows, center of front and back depicts gold baskets hanging from ribbon extending to approximate mid-point of walls, basket rim in rebus curve, filled with flowering branches; base is mounted in circular metal band supported by three legs consisting of roughly cast cherubim with claw feet; no pontil mold marks; unsigned.
