Physical DescriptionTransparent red non-lead glass, iridized to amethyst, polychrome enamel, gilding; mold-blown, iridized, enameled, gilded, possibly cold-painted. Inverted baluster shape vase, collared neck, raised and slightly curved-in lip, ground and polished flat, lip and rim gilded; iridized body decorated on upper half with figure of female with flowing hair, running and holding up skirts (green, with amethyst and pink detail) with one hand and waving a tennis racket at an orange ball with the other, figure is surrounded on sides and bottom with asymmetrical gilded cartouche decoration, white and gold flowering branches detailing, opposite wall has small gilded and enameled asymmetrical cartouche/branch decoration; narrow, body tapers to slightly flared narrow base; mold marks; some grinding, fold/crack across one-quarter of base; no pontil; unsigned.Provenance
