Physical DescriptionTransparent pale yellowish green glass; blown; rim finished at glory hole; wheel-cut. Hemispherical; rim plain and rounded with slight constriction below lip on outside; wall descends almost vertically and then curves inward to rounded base; pontil mark, partly removed by grinding. Decoration of broad wheel-cut grooves: on wall, wide band of ornament between upper and lower borders; on base, concentric band of ornament between lower border of band on wall and concentric circle around pontil mark. On body: upper border consists of cross-hatching between two parallel horizontal lines; main ornament has nine contiguous roundels, each formed from two arcs, one above and one below, extremities of which almost touch, and each containing circle enclosing six-pointed star made with three intersecting cuts; roundels are linked by pairs of short horizontal cuts; above and below these, between each pair of roundels, pair of small vertical cuts and small arc-shaped cut; lower border consists of two parallel lines. On base: band consists of nine almost contiguous circles. Inside concentric circle around pontil mark: diamond-shaped motif made with four short cuts.Provenance
