Physical DescriptionColorless or almost colorless; small bubbles. Blown; facet-cut. Rim and neck of bottle: narrow, cylindrical. Rim plain, with top ground flat; neck descends vertically. Neck is divided into three bands by shallow horizontal groove, 0.2 cm wide and with bottom 0.5 cm below rim; countersunk horizontal rib, 0.2 cm wide and with bottom 3.6 cm below lip; and horizontal groove, 0.3 cm wide and 9.5 cm below lip. Bands are treated as follows (from top to bottom): (1) is plain; (2) has three pairs of shallow rhomboids, which are markedly taller than they are wide; in each pair, outer vertical sides are at higher level than inner vertical sides, creating triangular space between their tops, which is occupied by shallow triangle; similar shallow triangle occupies triangular space between bottoms of each pair of rhomboids; and (3) row of four small rectangles, which are taller than they are wide, above row of four larger rectangles, which are markedly taller than they are wide, and, in gap between two rectangles, triangle with apex pointing down above triangle with apex pointing up. Hint of shoulder survives at bottom of fragment, and this shows that neck had only three bands.Provenance
