Physical DescriptionColorless lead glass with enameling of pale transparent blue, opaque red and black; blown blank, cut and engraved bowl, inscribed and sandblasted stem and foot, overall enameled details. Tall goblet with undulating cut and polished rim enameled with a narrow red band divided by regular, minute black cross-hatching; bowl has pale wash of blue enamel brushstrokes flanking a large engraved head of a fish angling from rim across one side of bowl; carved head is shown in profile, one eye shown with engraved detailing, sharp pointed engraved teeth and a long thin red and black enameled tongue; bowl is connected to knop inscribed with vertical, closely spaced parallel lines; stem sandblasted leaving matte surface and thin raised polished bands in relief with vertical lines of black enamel; scattered seeds and air traps; solid conical stepped foot has overall radiating thin, parallel inscribed lines; rough pontil; inscribed on pontil: "FS (monogram)/88"; undecipherable inscribed monogram on inside edge of foot.
