Physical DescriptionColorless (grey) non-lead glass; blown, gilt, enameled. (a) Tall, cylindrical, slightly bulbous shape; wide gilt band with blue dots encircled by rings of white dots, flanked by rows of white and red dots, below the rim; enameled and gilt elaborate coat of arms on the side, crowned, with six crests, and black men supporters, on an ermine-lined cape; inscribed above on a white ribband "INTIMA/CANDENT"; and in white letters above that, "I.I.G.V.Sf="; "dated" below ".1.6.7.8."; gilt and enameled geometric ornaments above and below, on either side of the shield; a formal floral spray on the reverse, with red and blue tulips; red, blue, and yellow lines at the bottom of the bowl; trumpet foot with gilt line at the join to the bowl; gilt band at the edge; folded rim; large, rough pontil mark inside. (b) Domed shape, with folded rim and cylindrical brim; four enameled and gilt geometric ornaments on the dome, matching those on (a); bands of white enamel dashes alternating with gilt bands on the rim; applied disk on the top, with a ring of white enamel dots, and inverted baluster finial with red enamel circle on top, encircled by a ring of white dots; the finial formerly mostly gilt; small rough pontil mark inside.Provenance
