Physical DescriptionSheet metal, wood; turned, painted, rolled, cut, punched, bent, crimped, assembled, soldered. Burner has iron holder and copper alloy/iron canister to hold the alcohol. Turned wooden handle, with black enamel paint. The base is bent/warped, so that the object does not sit flat. a) the holder is cylindrical with a cut out open area on the lower part of one side, presumably for a candle or oil burner. The back is fenestrated, with horizontal slots, and 5 circular holes near the top. A round pan bridges the gap between the handle and the cylinder, presumably for holding/resting beads or glass fabrications. A bent iron rod extends up from the handle presumably also for holding glass beads or objects in manufacture. The iron cylinder is mechanically joined to the bottom and pan, with bent tabs. The handle is soldered to the base and to the edge of the pan. b) the alcohol canister is made of both iron and copper alloy. It is roughly cylindrical, with the cylinder section made of iron sheet metal, and the flat bottom and domed top made of copper alloy. The various sections are soldered together. A round hole at the top has a small cut and flanged collar. The number "8" is stamped on one side of the bottom. Provenance
