Physical DescriptionColorless non-lead glass fiber, colorless and opaque blue plastic spool; consolidated and drawn. Disk-shaped spool, rim of colorless plastic (largely frosted surface) with "CORNING" impressed on either side of handle, rigid horizontal handle with finger grip extends from top side of rim, five pairs of small wedges keep the spool from rolling when setting on the rim, core and circular sides of spool are of molded blue plastic impressed on one side with the words: "Corning Optical Fiber/CORNING", the other side is covered with a coated blue paper with white speckled stripe graphics and these words: "Corning Optical Fiber/Each Corning TM optical fiber/product and/or its manufacture/may be covered by one or more of/the following U.S. patents: (three columns of patent numbers)/Corning Incorporated/Telecommunications Products Division/Corning, New York 14831/CORNING/Corning: Fiber you can count on; two white paper labels with black type are placed on this side, rectangular label: *** MECHANICAL SAMPLE ***/611145953307/2.2 KM/250 MICRON COATING; square label: bar code/DEVELOPMENTAL WARRANTY/FIBER ID 611145953307/PROD.
